The Public Prosecution in Jerusalem charges “premeditated murder” against a father who strangled his child to death in front of his sister Jerusalem — The Public Prosecution submitted to the District Court in Jerusalem a serious indictment against Khalil Ayyad (27 years old), accusing him of premeditated murder under aggravated circumstances against his three-year-old son, in addition to charges related to psychological abuse of a short woman, and obstruction of justice. According to the indictment prepared by the Public Prosecution, the details of the crime are summarized in the following points: Incidents of the crime: The accused took advantage of his wife’s absence at work and went alone with his two children. When the child victim cried, he took him to the children’s room and pinned him to the bed, then suffocated him with a “plastic bag” that he tightly tied around his neck, while immobilizing his hands to prevent him from resisting, which led to his death by suffocation. Psychological intimidation: The victim’s sister (4 years old) entered the room during the incident and witnessed the crime. The accused ordered her to leave, then asked her to return later and sit next to the body of her unconscious brother. Obstruction of justice: The accused left the house to dispose of the crime tool in a public waste container to hide the evidence, then returned to pray, leaving his two children in the room, knowing that his son had died, until his wife returned. The Public Prosecution requests the extension of the accused’s detention until all legal procedures against him are completed, given the seriousness and heinousness of the crime committed against a minor child who was under his responsibility and care.
