Russian journalist and activist Andrei X: The West Bank is witnessing an escalation that threatens the Palestinian existence. What is happening in the West Bank has gone beyond military operations to a comprehensive siege that affects the details of daily life, while almost no Palestinian family is devoid of a martyr, wounded, or prisoner. Thousands of Palestinians have been displaced from their homes, while other families live under the constant threat of settler attacks, amid deteriorating water and electricity services. Last week was one of the most violent weeks, and Nablus Governorate witnessed the largest number of settler attacks, which included burning homes, mosques, and vehicles, and wounding Palestinian citizens. Indicators of escalation are increasing as settlement expansion continues, with the possibility of expanding the occupation operations to new camps in the West Bank.
