Head of the Pediatrics Department at Al-Nasr Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital in Gaza, Dr. Ragheb Warsh Agha: – The hospital recorded hundreds of cases of meningitis, and we warn of the escalation of the spread of the disease in light of the ongoing collapse of the health sector and the disastrous living conditions that the population is experiencing. We are witnessing a daily increase in the number of cases of meningism, amid an acute shortage of clean water and personal hygiene supplies, which exacerbates the chances of the spread of diseases and epidemics, especially in shelter centers that suffer from overcrowding and a lack of public health conditions. We call on international and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to provide safe drinking water, in addition to supporting health facilities with the necessary medicines and antibiotics to limit the spread of the disease.
