Ben Gvir: The truth is that the deal on the table is a dangerous deal that harms Israel's security.

Ben Gvir: The truth is that the deal on the table is a dangerous deal that harms Israel’s security. This is a deal that gives Hamas what it did not succeed in taking on the battlefield. A deal that stops the army from fighting against Hamas until the end, a deal that removes the army from areas liberated with the blood of our soldiers, a deal that releases hundreds of terrorists, including murderers with blood on their hands, a deal that separates prisoners, a deal that refills Hamas’s stores, and gives them oxygen and air to survive, and this is a very, very, very difficult event. I say: It is not permissible for us, we are not permissible to proceed with this deal. There are some voices that say: Wait a minute, there is President Trump. Do you want to clash with Trump? I’m not at all sure that the direction of this deal is fully signed by Trump. And certainly, if the Prime Minister had come to President Trump and said: We may not, we may not allow Hamas to recover, I have no doubt that President Trump would have listened. I hear voices shouting at me calls for mercy towards the prisoners. I love the prisoners, they are my brothers, they are my flesh. But I want to say what I also said before the Shalit deal, even Gilad Shalit is my brother, my flesh, but that deal cost us, cost us a very high price, and I say now also, what will we say to the mothers of the soldiers? What will we tell the people of the south? What will we say to the residents of the Gaza Strip? Unfortunately, the Otzma Yehudit party is only six votes in the coalition. I cannot with our votes alone stop this path. In the past, when the government was based on my votes, I prevented reckless deals. I believe, and I call on Minister Smotrich, that if he joins me, if he is with me, and if we walk together against this dangerous deal, we can stop it. I call on my friends in religious Zionism to join hands with me, to work together to thwart this path, and to walk on the path to complete victory. Translated by Moamen Miqdad
