An obituary statement issued by the Ministry of Health in Gaza: It is with great sadness and sorrow that we mourn the masses of our patient Palestinian people, the martyr Dr. Ahmed Qandil, Consultant in General Surgery and Endoscopy, who rose this afternoon to the rank of martyr as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and who did not delay in serving his people inside the corridors of hospitals, embodying the highest meanings of sacrifice and sincerity. The medical family has lost one of its prominent pillars, a loyal doctor and a noble human being. During his career, he wrote bright pages of giving and continued day and night to provide medical care in the most difficult circumstances. We extend our deepest condolences and sympathy to the martyr’s family, his fans, and his colleagues, asking God Almighty to accept him in heaven, and to inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
